These take place in five different cities in the country, namely Lagos, Ibadan, Benin, Enugu and Nsukka. The training schemes are aimed at ensuring the overall development of the youth. The formation offered covers the academic, cultural, professional and moral areas of life. This training is geared towards the following objectives:

ACADEMIC TRAINING

There are schemes aimed at furthering academic training. This is done through a variety of curricular and co-curricular activities that complement the formal education received by the youth. It is tailored to cater for people from different educational and cultural backgrounds. Those who benefit from it are also taught to how to maximize their study and other educational pursuits. They include: Study weekends, Guided Study Programs (for Secondary school students, etc.).

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SKILLS ACQUISITION

In this age of technology, it is imperative that one acquires the much needed technical skills. These are provided in the youth centres via training programmes, some of which are run concurrently with the normal academic year and others at strategic times in the year.Examples of programmes are: Information Technology Academy (Uhere Study Centre, Nsukka) and BELT series (Akoka Study Centre, Lagos).

CULTURAL EXCHANGE PROGRAMMES

Programmes are arranged periodically for young men from different universities. These programmes are organized in different parts of the country to foster the students’ knowledge of different universities, knowledge fields and other issues that are also discussed in the cultural exchange programmes.

EDUCATION ON CIVIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND VALUES

Various seminars are organized to foster education of the youth on their civic responsibilities and values. These seminars focus on increasing the knowledge of the youth about their civic responsibilities. This is especially important because there is a severe lack of awareness of these responsibilities on the part of the public today. With these efforts, it is hoped that the coming generations will imbibe the necessary positive values needed to make society better.
