ECS in collaboration with some grassroots NGOs has set up several community development projects in rural areas of Ogun, Enugu and Oyo states. The activities in such rural projects have the following broad objectives:
  • Poverty alleviation and capacity building for rural people.
  • Primary health care, hygiene and home management
  • Rural self help and basic agricultural techniques
IROTO CONFERENCE CENTRE

Built in 1986, The Conference Centre provides the atmosphere and the material facilities for conferences, courses, seminars, for homogeneous groups of people, who wish to examine their lives, work, family, social relationships etc, in the light of ultimate goals and values.

The Rural Centre promotes the social, health and economic well- being of the local population, with particular reference to women and children. It also offers courses on primary health, hygiene, nutrition, and agricultural techniques to the local families. Since 1989, a rural health Clinic established at Iroto has proven effective, in the delivery of clinical services and as a centre for health- related educational activities.

The Educational Co-operation Society (ECS) is currently mobilizing a part of the Ibeju-Lekki communities comprising of Idado, Eleko and Badore communities, for a rural development programme. This would be the second of such interventions by the ECS at Ibeju-Lekki, aimed at strengthening civil society towards achieving self development and equity within the rural areas. At a community meeting on November 20, 2013 representatives from Igando and Debojo showed up, signalling their interests in getting involved with the development initiative.
